Masters of the Universe film gets first official trailer

Amazon MGM and Mattel Studios have shared the first trailer for their long-awaited Masters of the Universe feature film.

The new trailer shows off Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam / He-Man, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Camila Mendes as Teela, and Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms.

The film seeks to recreate the iconic 1980s toys and animated series from Mattel to life with a story by Aaron and Adam Nee, Alex Litvak and Michael Finch, a screenplay by Chris Butler, Dave Callaham (and the Nee brothers too), and has Travis Knight directing.

The ensemble cast also includes Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Charlotte Riley, as well as Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto.

Masters of the Universe is set to premiere only in theaters this summer, on June 5th.
