Stardock has announced the Steam Early Access launch date for the massive scale real-time strategy game, Ashes of the Singularity.
The Oxide Games-developed RTS is launching for PC on October 22nd, and it will cost you $49.99. If you buy the game within a “limited time,” you’ll get it at $39.99. Stardock also revealed the game’s gorgeous key art, which you can view above.
“We are very excited to go into early access,” said Brad Wardell, President & CEO of Stardock. “Given how ambitious this game is, we’re going to need all the help we can get from our player base to reach our goal of making this the most epic, large-scale real time strategy game ever.”
The Early Access release supports both single-player AI as well as multiplayer, and it will also feature several different planets to battle over. The game is the first RTS to use DirectX 12, asynchronous multi-core real-time AI, as well as being the first 64-bit RTS.
Ashes of the Singularity is a game that takes place in the distant future, where players start on a contested planet with a single, lonely headquarters. You have to gather resources, research new tech, manage a global economy, build factories, and of course – manufacture sprawling, massive armies to wipe out your enemies.
