Square Enix and Marvel have announced that there will be a Marvel’s Avengers “War Table” livestream, showing new gameplay.
Marvel Games’ VP & Creative Director Bill Rosemann shared how the game’s timing might be apt, given the coronavirus pandemic.
“Why Super Heroes? Because they inspire us to be our best through dark times. Why video games? Because they allow us to connect both to our inner selves and to each other in bold new ways. Why Marvel’s Avengers? Because everyone at Crystal Dynamics knows the world wants to assemble and that together, we are stronger.”
Marvel Games’ Director of Production Eric Monacelli stated that working at home has uplifted the development team, rather than hinder them.
“It’s been uplifting and inspiring to collaborate with the team at Crystal Dynamics as they reassemble to work from home. They continue their hard work, endeavoring to deliver Marvel’s Avengers as an original, authentic Marvel experience that’s truly Mighty and Worthy. The first Marvel’s Avengers War Table on June 24 is full of amazing content and surprises. Can’t wait for the world to see it!”
The game was originally slated to launch May 15th, which was then delayed to September 4th. Whether remote working will result in another delay is unknown, but would not be surprising. On the other hand, such announcements have typically come as stand-alone announcements.

The War Table livestream premieres June 24th. No time or platform was announced, but we imagine it is likely to be on the game’s official YouTube channel.
Marvel’s Avengers is launches September 4th for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
