Man Vs. Shark Game, Depth, Gets a Massive Update with Megalodons

Asynchronous multiplayer action game Depth is certainly intriguing, with its brutal shark vs. man tactics, but it just got a lot nastier.

The game recently got a pretty sizable update last month, bringing with it a new map, new sharks, and a new game mode dubbed the “Megalodon Hunt.” Let developer Digital Confectioners do the talking:

“Megalodon Hunt is an all-new game mode for Depth. Five divers face off against the greatest and most ferocious shark conceivable – the powerful Megalodon. The Megalodon Hunt mode is void of S.T.E.V.E. and instead of focusing on room-to-room combat concentrates on map-wide chaos. Divers scramble for treasure as the Megalodon puts up a relentless fight, however, as divers get stronger the tables turn and the hunter becomes hunted.”

Featured above, you can view a teaser trailer for the update’s contents. Here are the main changes that were added with the Big Catch update:

Mechanics

  • Second game mode (‘Megalodon Hunt’) added with 5 divers vs 1 shark
  • Tiger shark class added
  • Mako shark class added – is very fast and nimble, but fragile
  • Great White shark class re-balanced to be tough but a bit less agile
  • Shark Shield consumable added for divers

Balance

  • Knife now deals 10% of Max Health as damage with a cap of 30 damage
  • ADS damage increased to 35 from 29
  • APS damage increased to 35 from 34
  • Nimble Finned now removes 0.5 seconds from lunge/dart cooldowns, instead of halving the cooldown

  • Bombsniffer no longer reveals Sonar Buoys
  • Fueled Anger no longer gives stamina past the maximum
  • Fixed damage points being capped at 255

You can find the entire list of changes here, on the game’s Steam page.
