Man at Arms is a regular series in which an experienced blacksmith takes to his forge to create both realistic and fantastical weapons from various pieces of fiction or historical figures.
Featured above, it seems like enough fan demand came through, as now we’ve gotten a look at what it takes to recreate Squall’s Gunblade from Final Fantasy VIII.
Say what you want about how functional or completely useless the design of the weapon is, you’ve got to admit it looks pretty!

October 7, 2014 at 6:02 amI kinda hoped that it will be able to shoot :)
But still nice work! Though on internet you can find many similar movies from making gunblades.
Hmm… well…. I can understand why “nobody” asks for bustersword…. I mean… dude how the helll am I supposed to swing that shit :)
Though… it would be fun to watch making of Odin’s Zantetsuken or Celestials of Tidus or Auron

Whatever the case, I’d love to know what they think of the grip. I can’t tell if they’re struggling to hold it or not.
