Makai Shin Trillion Bumper Update: Videos, Screenshots, Details

Makai Shin Trillion takes place in a demonic hell split across six different layers. In the game, players play as the Demon King Zeabolos who, in exchange for his soul, is resurrected by a girl named Faust after losing a fight to Trillion (who has 1,000,000,000,000 HP). Newly alive, Zeabolos sets out to fight Trillion once again, this time with six Demon Lords who will act in his place.

You can watch a trailer for the game above.

Battle

Trillion‘s gameplay consists of two broad phases. During the “Slumbering” phase, Trillion temporarily halts its progress, which gives the player an opportunity to train and thereby improve the Demon Lords. During the “Advancing” phase, Trillion wakes, and the battle begins.

Battles employ a system of grid-based SRPG mechanics with real-time combat elements. Trillion’s objective is to cross the player’s defensive line from the other end of the map and cause devastation. The player’s objective is primarily to survive the attack, and secondarily to chip away at Trillion’s health. Players must survive long enough to continue the fight over multiple encounters. It’s the only way to win.

Players are able to flee the battlefield, at the cost of ceding territory to Trillion. The more the player flees, the more they hand over territory to Trillion. The game is lost if it reaches the core of the player’s territory. The pace at which Trillion advances is also revealed known to players, and changes over time as it is damaged, which allows for strategic decisions on players’ part.

Trillion

Trillion’s every move is telegraphed in advance, revealing such details as attack range and when exactly Trillion will execute his move.

Players can target Individual parts of Trillion’s body, which causes the armor on that part of the body to temporarily break if enough damage is caused to it. This results in it being unable to perform skills that rely on that part of its body. However, this handicap is only temporary, as its armor regenerates.

Trillion also has helpers that come in four different forms, each with different specialties:

  • the Rushdown minion, which has high attack power;
  • the Long Distance minion, which attacks from a safe distance;
  • the Support minion, which supports and heals the other minions; and
  • the Iron Wall minion, which has high defenses, and focuses on protecting Trillion.

Demon Lords

In order to defeat Trillion, as Zeabolos, players train and bond with six Demon Lords, all girls, who each represent a deadly sin; the way in which players train the Lords can trigger special events, and lead to different endings.

The Demon Lords and their voice actors are:

  • Luushe (voiced by Ayane Sakura), the Deadly Sin of Pride;
  • Revia (Asami Imai), Envy incarnate;
  • Mamon (Saori Oonishi), the symbol of Greed;
  • Phegor (Rui Tanabe), the representative of Sloth;
  • Ashumedia (Natsue Sasamoto), the embodiment of Lust; and
  • Peruperu (Mai Fuchigami), who is the stand-in for Gluttony.

It’s important to nurture the six female Demon Lords in order to earn Memory Points. Memory Points are gained by training the girls, buying/selling items, and the like, and these points can then be exchanged for HP and MP for the girls. When a Demon Lord is nearly dead, she can have the last hurrah by using her Dying Skill, a culmination of her remaining life force and the memories she has accumulated. Each Demon Lord’s Dying Skill is different, and using it seals the girl’s fate. Dying Skills thus far unveiled include the Transient Blow, which deals enormous damage to Trillion, and the Eternal Seal, which permanently prevents Trillion from using skills associated with one part of its body.

Also, Booster Devils, allies of the Demon Lords, will aid them in their fights. They accompany the Demon Lords into battle, but aren’t controlled directly by the player. How many Booster Devils each girl has depends on her captaining (CAP) stat.
