Mages has announced they’ve gone fully independent again, as they’ve completed a management buyout of shares from their now former parent company, Dwango (who are part of the Kadokawa Corporation group).

The buyout was completed on July 12th (which they just announced now), where the developer also confirmed they’ll be consolidating their business brand 5pb. into Mages proper.

The goal is to strengthen their overall branding, as well as their business decisions, all under company president Chiyomaru Shikura.

Mages hopes to utilize the knowledge they gained while being a part of Kadokawa Group, so that they can bring new value and growth to their business. Despite the buyout, Mages aims to maintain a favorable relationship with Kadokawa moving as they have in the past.
