An original anime crossover film Lupin III vs. Cat’s Eye has been officially announced.
While weebs worldwide are familiar with Lupin, Cat’s Eye is a bit of a surprise franchise since its last appearance since the ’80s was a live action series in the 90s and a brief manga revival in 2010. Originally released as a manga from 1981 to 1985, Cat’s Eye follows a group of female art thieves. The series was created by Tsukasa Hojo who’s more famous for his work on City Hunter.
You can check out the trailer for Lupin III vs. Cat’s Eye below.
Interestingly, the film is going to be an Amazon Video exclusive release and makes heavy use of 3D animation. However what we see in the trailer is a far cry from the stylistic 3D used in Lupin III: The First.
