The manga Hishino Samidare (Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer) has gained sort of a cult following over the years, and fans have long wondered if an anime adaptation would ever happen and become a reality. A website was spotted showcasing what seems to be an announcement of it in 2022 sometime directly from the mangaka themselves.

The story centers around a plucky superhuman girl, who enlists a somewhat unassuming boy to become her “knight” and is tasked with supporting her, and her crusade to punch the guy that made a massive hammer appear in the sky, that threatens to smash the world. She wants to smash the world herself first before the hammer does.
The story takes some wild turns and twists but not the stupid annoying ‘subverting expectations’ ones that plague a lot of otherwise good writing in other stories like it. The manga led me into binging everything the mangaka has created so far and I’ve not been disappointed once yet. Looking forward to this one for sure.
