Lucadian Chronicles, the “Strategy, Puzzle, Card Collecting Game”, Wants on Steam

Lucadian Chronicles is a “strategy, puzzle, and card collecting game” that’s already out on the Wii U, and which developers Dark Roast Entertainment would like to bring to PCs via Steam.

The game’s mechanics are summarized in the above video. “In Lucadian Chronicles, each card has a variety of stats and abilities, as well as a color and cost,” the developers explain. “The heart of the game is creating teams that conform to color and cost limits while taking advantage of card synergies and matching up against the opponent’s team.”

Lucadian Chronicles has three modes: a single-player campaign, with a story and branching paths; asynchronous multiplayer leagues, which stress “the overall strength of your collection, the ability to identify trends in the meta strategy, and to adapt to what the players in your specific leagues are doing”; and a real-time draft mode, in which players first pick the cards they’ll use, then enter a mini-tournament in which all they have access to is those cards.

Two aspects of the game are particularly noteworthy: it will have no micro-transactions for cards or in-game currency, and will have cross-play between the PC and Wii U.

Dark Roast Entertainment believe the process of porting the game to PC and customizing it for Steam will be a quick one, so they “plan to release within a few months of being greenlit.”

If you’re interested in voting on the game, you can head over to Steam Greenlight.
