Playism has announced they’ll be localizing doujin Japanese developer CB-SXF6’s Lost Technology on PC, a throwback real-time-strategy game of sorts that combines stylish visuals, a more adult storyline, and lots of deception.
While the game may have an older look reminiscent of games like Dragon Force or the Langrisser series, it was actually released in May of last year, with Playism now looking to release the game in English.
One of the first things you’ll probably notice are the character designs – each of which featuring sharp lines and bold designs. This leads into what makes the game brutal, and certainly interesting.
The game is set in a world rife with combat and war, with maps and the combat itself being yet again similar to older strategy games. However, you’ll notice the game moves at a faster pace, and it feels a bit more brutal in comparison.
You’ll be able to make use of a “huge variety” of races including Beastmen, Elves, Draconians, and more as you fight enemies from all sides, as other factions might collaborate against you.
As previously mentioned, the story within Lost Technology is a key point as it pursues a more serious and dramatic route. In the words of Playism: “Lost Technology is NOT for kids,” as the story features torture, sex, violence, and lots of betrayal.
The game also features a replayable story, as you won’t see “all the madness” in a single playthrough. Pursuing another campaign with a different race, against other races, will create a completely different scenario each time.
Playism are working on translating Lost Technology and releasing it sometime “in the near future.” For now, you can find more artwork and screenshots for the game over on its official website.
While the original post was simply to gauge fan interest in the game, Playism tells us that Lost Technology is definitely being localized – they still want to know what you think, so please sound off in the comments below!
