Games Workshop has announced that a TV series based on the Eisenhorn novels is currently in development.
The Eisenhorn trilogy by Dan Abnett is generally regarded by 40k fans as some of the best novels in the entire Black Library catalog, and a good entry point if you want to dive deeper into the franchise. They follow the adventures of Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn and his agents as they investigate heresy and corruption within the Imperium.
The series spawned a second trilogy that follows Gideon Ravenor, Eisenhorn’s former apprentice, that further leads into yet another series that follows Bequin, one of Eisenhorn’s operatives and primary love interest. There’s also several omnibus collections worth of short stories. There’s also a video game loosely based on the first novel, but we don’t talk about that game.
Here’s what Dan Abnett had to say about the famous Inquisitor he created that ended up becoming a popular icon in the 40k universe:

The TV series is being led by Frank Spotnitz, who previously worked on Man in the High Castle and The X-Files. Here’s what he had to say about the upcoming project:
“We are delighted to collaborate with Games Workshop to develop the beloved visionary world of Warhammer 40,000 into a TV series. Warhammer 40,000 is steeped in rich and complex lore, with a myriad of traditions and stories that have accumulated over time in this thrilling and complex world, making it one of the most exciting properties to adapt for television audiences and the franchise’s loyal global fanbase. There is nothing else like it on television, and we are incredibly excited to tap into our own experience creating imaginative, complex and compelling worlds to bring this incredible saga to the screen.”
No word yet on when the series will begin full production, or where and when fans can watch it.
