Hot on the heels of Legendary getting the movie and TV rights for Street Fighter, we’ve learned a new live-action Street Fighter film is in the works.

With such a quick turn around, the only available details are that the film will be co-produced by Legendary and Capcom – though more information was promised to come in the future.

Right now hype for the franchise is hitting highs with the launch of the hotly anticipated Street Fighter 6.

So it makes sense for Capcom to work with Legendary, who have produced other video games adaptions such as Detective Pikachu and Warcraft.

There have already been live-action films based on the franchise in the past. However, their success has been lukewarm critically, though the 1994 film did well in the box office.

Street Fighter 6 is launching on June 2nd, 2023 across Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
