Live Action Sonic the Hedgehog Movie is Redesigning Sonic, Thanks to Fan Feedback

Following the first official trailer for the upcoming live action Sonic the Hedgehog movie, Sega and Paramount Pictures have announced they’re redesigning the blue blur – due to many fans not liking the original design shown.

The news comes via movie director Jeff Fowler, who took to Twitter to directly respond to fans’ criticisms. “Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be…”

Many fans made their own mockups and edits of what Sonic the Hedgehog should probably look like in a CG-based, live-action film. One of the more popular examples looks like this:

Sonic the Hedgehog is currently set to hit theaters on November 8th.
