We previously reported on an official, live-action movie based on Sleeping Dogs being produced – with Hong Kong legend Donnie Yen starring. Now, the owner of some furious fists has officially confirmed the film has entered production and filming.
The news comes via the actors Instagram, where he confirmed the movie’s production is “in motion,” while further teasing that “sometimes great things take a bit of time. You guys ready for this?”
Production is being headed by Neal Moritz (Fast and Furious), with Yen starring as undercover cop Wei Shen, who’s set on a mission to take down the infamous Triads. As the movie is based on the original game, it’s expected to take place in Hong Kong (and other regions), complete with fight scenes, racing, shooting, and more.
