Remember the action adventure game Remember Me? No? Well, the French development studio, Dontnod Entertainment, is working on a brand new game in the form of Life is Strange.

The game itself is a digital-only, “episodic narrative experience with a twist”, and it’s being published by Square Enix. The team is promising a “compelling, story-driven experience where choice and consequence play a key role” within the dialogue. However, “there’s a twist.”

Life is Strange kicks off when student Max Caulfield returns home to the fictional Oregon town of Arcadia Bay, after being away for five years. She meets up with her childhood friend, Chloe, and they consequently decide to solve the mysterious disappearance of their classmate, Rachel Amber.

Things take a turn for the interesting when Max discovers that she has the ability to rewind time, which allows the player to manipulate the course of the game, and possibly even change the past, present, and future.

Jean-Max Moris, Creative Director at Dontnod Entertainment had this to say regarding the new series:

“Everybody at Dontnod is excited to be working on such a refreshing title … We’re not only crafting the best game we possibly can, we also feel we’re providing the type of experience that perfectly fits today’s renewed taste for originality and diversity.”

While a release date was not confirmed, the game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

We’ll keep you guys posted.
