This would be awesome news, if they hadn’t totally blown it in the last episode and phoned in the most half-assed, underwhelming climax possible.
Instead, they took a brilliant original storytelling experience based on choice and consequence, and threw it all out the window for a “Mass Effect 3” pushbutton A/B ending where nothing you did mattered either way. Unfortunately, they already had 8 months of glowing praise and rave reviews to help them sneak it in under the radar.
I LOVED the first 4 episodes of the game, but despite that, I can’t honestly recommend buying Life is Strange, solely because of the painfully disappointing finale.

I never understood the appeal of this game and I heard the last episode was just awful.

Surprised this is actually happening with how poorly written I personally thought the story was. I am glad I will be able to find this used for crazy cheap eventually.

It’s not only the last episode that’s a boring mess unfortunately.

Same. I watched my friend stream it while others went crazy over it. I felt like I was missing something because it was coming off as cringe worthy to me.

Because the people who already bought Life is Strange would buy it again and aren’t the type to shun such things as gaming merch.

Surprised it did well enough to earn this; Episode 5 was a sub-par experience at best within the mechanics/narrative structure Life is Strange operated by.
