This week’s Famitsu (via Hachima) reports Keiji Inafune’s company, Comcept, has been acquired by Japanese publisher Level-5.

The company will now be a fully owned subsidiary, and will be rebranded to Level-5 Comcept. Roughly 15 staff are currently employed by the company, and Comcept as it currently operates will be closed sometime in the future.

While Inafune’s role in the new subsidiary isn’t clear, the goal is to produce games similar to what Inafune has been known for. Inafune did note that he will take responsibility for games he’s been working on until they’re completed.

The debut game from Level-5 Comcept is a mobile game called Dragon Colonies, which is set for a launch sometime next year in Japan. Players will be able to adventure through a world filled with a multitude of races, including: humans, beasts, and magical creatures.
