Publisher GungHo Online Entertainment and developer Supertrick Games have revealed generative AI (genAI) use for LET IT DIE: INFERNO.
LET IT DIE: INFERNO is a sequel to the original LET IT DIE. While the original game was wholly made by humans at Grasshopper Manufacture under director Gochi ‘SUDA51’ Suda, the sequel is made up by former Grasshopper staff that split into their own team, Supertrick Games.
While the full extent of genAI use is not known prior to game releases, Supertrick has revealed they used genAI to make content which was “then edited by our team for certain parts of the in-game voices, music, and graphics.”
That in-game content is described as: some parts of the background signboard textures, some parts of the Records images, some parts of the InfoCast videos, and some parts of the voices and music.
The new Grasshopper Manufacture team moved on with all their old IPs except for LET IT DIE, which is still owned by GungHo Online Entertainment, who are also the parent company of Supertrick.
LET IT DIE: INFERNO is set to launch globally across Windows PC (via Steam) and PlayStation 5.
