Lego Reveals Their Minecraft Competitor: Lego Worlds

We’ve learned (via Eurogamer) that Minecraft has yet another competitor in a sea of Minecraft-competitors – Lego. Yes, the long-running building toy manufacturer has launched their very own building sandbox, and it’s already on Steam Early Access.

The game costs $14.99, and it allows you to not only modify and explore a Lego-based world, it’ll let you create drivable vehicles (these include dragons), all in a procedurally generated landscape. The core game comes with some older and more current Lego sets, and there are more to be added later in future content updates, although you better believe these will cost money.

Here are the game’s key features:

  • Uncover hidden treasures in environments that range from the fun to the fantastical.
  • Make your worlds come to life with customizable characters, both friendly and fearsome
  • Race, soar, zoom, and ride on a variety of vehicles and creatures from diggers and helicopters to horses and dragons
  • Create and Customize your own LEGO World
  • Build any world you can imagine using the brick-by-brick editor tool and prefabricated LEGO structures
  • Modify terrain quickly and easily with the multi-tool.
  • Customize your characters in a wide variety of outfits and options.
  • Play with a select number of real-life LEGO sets, taken from the Classic and current LEGO themes!
  • Export your creations and save them to use again.

It’s worth mentioning that Lego Worlds currently lacks multiplayer, however that is reportedly coming in a future update.
