Legendary Metal Band Blind Guardian Joining The Dwarves Kickstarter

King Art Games have announced that legendary metal band Blind Guardian are joining the development for The Dwarves, their action RPG currently on Kickstarter.

While the extent of their contribution to the game is currently unclear, the above video gives a bit more insight to their willingness to add as much as they can to the game – while also ensuring that it makes sense within the game’s lore.

We do know there will be a “special quest” involving the band in the game, with some of the game’s original soundtrack being “reinterpreted” by the band. In case you missed our initial report for The Dwarves, you can find that here.

If you want an idea of what their previous in-game appearance was like, you can look no further than Sacred 2, which featured a quest which ended with a concert featuring the band performing “Sacred Worlds.” You can watch that below:

If you want to back The Dwarves on Kickstarter, you should head on over to their campaign.

Let’s hope they don’t get Onimusha’d and Crisis Core’d for this choice.

Never really cared for Blind Guardian, always leaned more towards Stratovarius and Helloween when it comes to Euro Power Metal.

    But still, that’s pretty cool.

Because of licensing issues with musical groups, Crisis Core (and Onimusha, I guess) got removed from the digital marketplace.

Someone feel free to correct me.

It’s also due to using an actor’s likenesses. Gackt was in Crisis Core, Jean Reno and some Japanese actors were in Onimusha.
Now that I think about it, that might happen to Yakuza 6 and Takeshi Kitano.

Oh, didn’t know that part. Can’t say I’m familiar with any of those people (besides Takeshi), but it doesn’t look like it was worth the effort.

Well it’s the same reason to put Beyonce in a animated kids movie. Gackt did act his (shitty unlikebale Mary Sue) character in front of a green screen and made 2 songs for Dirge of Cerberus.
At least he will be retconned from canon with the FF7 remake.

Right. Sold. Any game that gives me a 5 minute intermission to rock the fuck out is an automatic 10 in my books.

The only memorable moment from Dirge of Cerberus was hearing Gackt’s music at the last act.
