Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker fans are remodeling the world without the ocean

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Unflooded

Fans of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker have created the Wind Waker: Unflooded project in an attempt to recreate the world of the game without the ocean flooding the environment.

In The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, link spends much of the game traveling in a small sailboat while uncovering Ganondorf’s evil plot. In order to appreciate what Hyrule would truly look like at the time, the Wind Waker: Unflooded project is meant to expose the world beneath the waves.

“Wind Waker: Unflooded” is a 3D Modeling project to reimagine the entire world of Hyrule in the art style of “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.” (Progress: ~45%) Based on the “Lost Kingdom” map by MrJmZack on DeviantArt

The original game released in 2002 for the Nintendo Gamecube and has captured imaginations since with its open world design, sailing mechanics, and unique cel-shaded art style.
