Since its reveal at Gamescom of last year, not much has been revealed about the mysterious Tequila Works Playstation 4 game, Rime, but now we have some new insights into the game, thanks to a recent design document leak by VGLeaks, we’ve found out a great deal about it.
This original design document was in their pitch to Microsoft, a pitch that was turned down unfortunately due to the game lacking multiplayer and social features. This was confirmed in an interview with Deus Ex Machina, where Tequila Works revealed the rejection was because online features were heavily considered in their publishing policies during the design phase for the Xbox One console.
So now those design documents from their Microsoft pitch have surfaced, and it describes what the game was envisioned to be at that time. Survival, combat, hunting, shelter building, repairing weapons, all of this was planned to be part of the gameplay experience within Rime. Although this gives us an idea of what they were planning, we have no idea how far the game has come now, and how much of this has remained a part of the project:
