While Elden Ring was announced nearly two years ago at E3 2019, we haven’t seen much of the game since. A leaked Elden Ring trailer is making its way around the internet however, leading us to believe a full re-reveal is coming shortly.
The new trailer, which we cannot re-upload due to legal concerns, likens Elden Ring to “an all-new fantasy action RPG franchise from the creators of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro.” Various users on Twitter and elsewhere have shared nearly the entire trailer or snippets of it (backup is here).
“I can only imagine what drives you to seek the Elden Ring,” the narrator teases in the trailer. “I suppose you can’t be talked into turning back. Very well then!”
The trailer shows off a montage of combat that is very similar to what From Software has produced before complete with melee combat, a fire-breathing dragon, huge swords, and more.
Sources (via VGC) with knowledge of the game’s troubled development noted the production has been stalled because of forced remote-working limits, due to COVID-19, which have been in place with the studio for almost a year. The game has reportedly been delayed several times internally due to this, and the sources predict Elden Ring won’t hit release this year.
Other outlets have already begun to speculate when Bandai Namco will share more details on the hotly anticipated game – some even suggesting Microsoft will host an Xbox conference this month – Microsoft has already denied this is happening.
Elden Ring was originally announced for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We’ll keep you guys posted.
