Revealed during the recent Day of the Devs showcase, Lazy River is a co-op first-person shooter that asks a very important question: what happens when someone pees in a space waterpark?
Set aboard Water Station One, an enormous space-based waterpark built around an endless lazy river, the game begins with what should have been a relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, the station’s special “space water” reacts badly when someone contaminates the pool, transforming guests into aggressive zombies.
You must team up with friends to survive the journey down the river while building and upgrading a raft on the move. Along the way you’ll fight hordes of infected visitors, security robots, and whatever else the station throws at you while scavenging resources needed to stay alive.
In other words, Lazy River combines survival mechanics, cooperative shooting, and raft-building into a colorful and intentionally ridiculous setting that feels completely different from the typical zombie game.
Developed by a small team led by Mike Boxleiter, Lazy River has reportedly been in development for around four years. The game is currently scheduled to launch in Steam Early Access during summer 2027. Here’s a trailer:
