Lazarus the upcoming anime from Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe has released its first trailer.

Lazarus takes place in the year 2052, a miracle pill called Hapuna is able to cure virtually any ailment. However Doctor Skinner, the creator of Hapuna mysteriously vanishes.

When he returns, he informs the world that Hapuna will actually kill all those who take it approximately three years after their first dose. With little time remaining, a special task force called Lazarus sets out to find the doctor and use his research to create a cure for the cure.

The series is set to be directed by Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe and is being animated by studio MAPPA. Not only that, but the series will include action scenes from John Wick director Chad Stahelski.
