BioWare has shared the launch trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Featured above, the launch trailer mostly goes over the game’s story, which features the player embarking on a mission to find a new home for mankind. You’ll also be tasked with keeping your crew alive and well, explore mysterious and potentially hostile new worlds, and explore the Andromeda galaxy further.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is launching across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 21st in North America and March 23rd in Europe.

I have very few expectations of this.

I’ve given up on Mass Effect a long time ago. No matter what info I find I can’t get excited.

Anyway the trailer wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good. Either way it just doesn’t look like the game for me. Someone else would probably love the game.

Friggin’ hell the game looks graphically like it came out prior to 2013

I wonder if the people that looks for this stuff are the same people that go through a movie frame by frame to find a handful of things people forgot to cover up.

Every piece of official footage I’ve seen them release of this game has some sort of graphics bug. Either that or they’re introducing super powers. So far we’ve got the Flash, Elastigirl, and fucking nightcrawler.

Bioware is supposed to find this shit first, so the audience doesn’t. It’s one thing to have a few bugs in your game, but in the fucking promotional material? The shit you’re putting out to say ‘this is a quality product worth your money’? It isn’t like people are taking the footage under a microscope either, I’ve noticed every issue the first time through. Her whole fucking arm flips over to grab the gun. It’s fast, but it’s not hard to notice something like that and there’s a handy pause button right there.

Err, no it doesn’t. E.g., Asscreed 4 in 2013 was pretty good for its time and looks inferior in every way. The lighting and post in ME:A is pretty damn good. I don’t doubt you can find select screenshots in ME:A that look crappy, but I’m comparing the best to the best here. Lest we forget what ME3 looked like, which was released prior to 2013

I think the wrist just looks collapsed because the animator rotated the hand but forgot to rotate the arm bone or something.

this isn’t like when bioware was a tiny dev with Baldur’s Gate or Mass effect 1, they are a huge development team owned by a multi-million dollar company and frankly don’t need you doing charity work shilling for them

This game just doesn’t look exciting at all. It looks like more Mass Effect, and there’s no way in fuck it would ever measure up to the first two entries in the series.

Well after Inquisition I can hardly have any expectations about a Bioware game but they can always surprise me by releasing a quality game.I doubt that will be the case here though.

They butchered a great song there.

Not to mention, whose bright idea was it to put a song about being human in a trailer for a game about aliens?

What’s the point of using better technology when the development team clearly doesn’t know how to take advantage of it? What’s up with those animations, even Fallout 3 had better facial expressions.

Lol.Nah.They still have amazing music and environmental artists though.

The ships look cool. But all the characters look like shit and they will try, again,to tell a mature story that feels it was written by a 7 years old.Because they saw with the Witcher that people like mature stories.Of course they aren’t CDProjekt.

It’s not the kind of hope I have for a good Bloodlines 2 game or even the Cyberpunk game. It’s more of a “It will probably suck but I don’t want to write it off completely because there’s a slim chance I’ll find something I’ll enjoy in it”.That said, the story itself looks like something it would’ve felt fresh in the 60’s.The SF parts of it.As their ideals being forced into the story, you’d think they looked at Asimov’s work and tried to emulate him but they lack his talent.

Actually, by comparison, ME3 looks superior to ME:A. The new one looks like they tried to stretch silly puddy over the frame. It does look like crap compared to what we have today, as well as their 2012 installment.

The picture you have posted above of Shepard, is much better than Blue Shrek and that insufferable smirk face. I’d say ME3 looks far better in that regard. I’d compar ME:A to Oblivion’s terrible facial animation.

I know you have no argument when you need to criticize my word choice. Do you have a favorite corporate dickriding euphemism I can use with your approval?

    Lets review what happened

-A multi-million dollar backed, several thousand employee strong company debuts a RELEASE trailer (mind you not alpha or beta footage where many of these shortcomings were still prominent) for their game that has been in development for a few years and is coming out soon.

-You come here *insert your approved corporate dickriding euphemism here*-ing saying ‘look at all these losers going frame-by-frame for things to nitpick about’

-I call you out on your bullshit, saying it is unacceptable, for everyone who watched this trailer and greenlighted its public debut and give it a thumbs up when such glaring visual errors are present (not just a frame and gone BTW, pause at the wrong time and its not to hard to see)

yeah goofs happen all the time, but when a company has shown such consistent failures in animation, modeling, and the like dismissing it as ‘work in progress’ but when their last trailer comes along, and the game is gold, still having these issues you are jumping to defend such a large entity who have people they pay for PR and instead choose to deflect ANY criticism onto the critics themselves

PLEASE just try to explain where I have committed a fallacy or where my logic lapses, or if you respond at all are you just going to do a grammar check next time?

Again, obviously you can find individual screenshots that probably compare unfavorably to ME:A.

However that’s not even what you’re looking at—you’re looking at the charcter design of one specific character in one specific shot and saying the graphics are worse because you don’t like that character.

Where did I say anything about graphics? The characters are poorly designed. They look like there was hardly any care taken to design them. My jab was at the effort put forth (or lack thereof in this case).

TL;DR: you’re just super triggered. I know you guys get really antsy and aggressive whenever someone that isn’t a part of your little echo chamber circle jerk has the audacity to say anything, but chill out.

As for “having no argument:” there was never any argument in the first place. If you want to pick an internet fight you’re going to have to do it with someone else. Preferably someone 12 years old, for best results.
