Following the tragic arson attack that claimed the lives of 35 staff at Kyoto Animation last month, the famed Japanese animation studio has been working towards recovery and working on their various projects again, including their latest movie.
We’ve learned (via Asahi Shimbun) that the studio’s spin-off movie Violet Evergarden Side-Story: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll will be released nationwide in Japan as scheduled, on September 6th.
The film saw its worldwide premiere in Germany at the Animagic convention, “at the express request of the studio.”
Violet Evergarden was originally conceived as a light novel in 2015, and was later adapted by Kyoto Animation as an anime series in 2018.
