The man responsible for the awful arson attack on Japanese animation studio Kyoto Animation, which claimed the lives of 35 people, has been in custody and medical care since the attack. We’ve learned (via Kyodo News, Jin) that the culprit is able to speak, and sit up.
As of October 8th, 2019, Susumu Aoba (41), the man responsible for dozens of deaths, hundreds of innocent victims, and millions of brokenhearted fans, is now able to sit up in a wheelchair and speak.
Aoba is set to receive physical therapy soon so as to restore his ability to function. He’s going to need it too, once he goes on trial for his crimes against the studio.
Arson is a massive crime in Japan, and is considered one of the worst things a person can do as a human being is to burn things. Especially things that hold a historical and cultural value like Kyoto Animation studios did.
