Korean publisher KRAFTON has announced they’ve acquired both Tango Gameworks and the HI-FI RUSH intellectual property from Microsoft.
The new acquisition of both Tango Gameworks and HI-FI RUSH marks the first major investment by KRAFTON in the Japanese market.
Tango Gameworks was founded back in March 2010 as part of Zenimax Media, and became part of Microsoft when the parent company was acquired in 2021.
Later, the developer was sadly shut down by Microsoft back in May amidst sweeping cuts made to their entire global workforce.
As part of new agreement, KRAFTON will collaborate with Xbox and ZeniMax to ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity at Tango Gameworks, allowing the team to continue developing the Hi-Fi RUSH IP and explore future projects. KRAFTON will support the Tango Gameworks team to continue its commitment to innovation and delivering fresh and exciting experiences for fans.
It’s worth noting Tango Gameworks’ existing library of titles, including The Evil Within, The Evil Within 2, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and the original Hi-Fi RUSH game will remain unaffected by the acquisition and will remain available everywhere.
