Konami Delists Itself From New York Stock Exchange

It seems like there’s trouble brewing at Konami, as we’ve learned that Japanese publisher has voluntarily delisted itself from the New York Stock Exchange, which took effect on April 24th.

While Konami is still listed in London and Tokyo, the company put forth a notice to their investors back on April 1st, however today’s notice tells us that 99.71 percent of their trading in the past year occurred in Japan and London. It’s worth mentioning their shares are still eligible for trading in the United States on the over-the-counter market.

The news comes after Konami canceling the Hideo Kojima-Guillermo del Toro developed Silent Hills.

Finally, Konami is going to be deregistered with the SEC on July 12th, followed by their reporting obligations being terminated on July 23rd. Konami did say they would share financial statements and further information in English – although they’re not legally obligated following this development.
