Blizzard has announced the next expansion for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.

The next expansion will take players back to Northrend, and it’s titled simply Knights of the Frozen Throne. Featured above, you can view the expansions announcement trailer, where the developers go over its key features and themes.

Here’s a brief synopsis on the expansion, via Blizzard:

An icy wind howls outside the inn’s walls, but the chill you feel crawling up your spine has little to do with the bitter cold. No deck is safe from the Lich King’s evil influence; even the most stalwart champions of the Light have been turned into wicked Death Knights. As the agents of the undead Scourge plague the land, it falls to you to gather your cards, face these vile abominations, and turn their dark powers against them.Do not fear power; fear those who wield it!

There’s 135 new cards arriving with the new expansion, as well as nine legendary Hero Cards that are a first for the series.

These Hero Cards will take the place of your existing hero, turning them into a Death Knight – granting them frost armor and new powers. There’s also a new “Lifesteal” ability that heals the player for the amount of damage dealt.

Knights of the Frozen Throne card packs can be obtained in the Arena Mode, as well as via in-game money or real money at the same price as other Hearthstone card packs. You can also pre-purchase the new packs in a 50-pack bundle on PC, Android, or iOS for $49.99. Going with the big pack also nets you a unique themed card pack from the Lord of the Scourge.
