Gemdrops has announced PlayStation ports for Kizuna AI: Touch the Beat! at Tokyo Game Show 2022.
Kizuna AI: Touch the Beat! is coming to PS4 and PS5 sometime in early 2023 in both a “non-VR Mode” and with support for both PlayStation VR and PlayStation VR, despite Sony saying PlayStation VR1 games don’t work on VR2.
The music-rhythm game was originally released as a VR-exclusive for Oculus Quest back in 2020.
Here’s the debut trailer:
Here’s a rundown on the new ports:
What is Kizuna AI: Touch the Beat?
A rhythm game that you can play with Kizuna AI. Equipped with a “nonVR mode” that adds new elements from the Meta Quest version and allows you to play without using VR equipment. It has been reborn as a rhythm game with a new sensation by operating the controller. Of course, it also supports VR. In addition to playing rhythm games using conventional VR space, you can freely move the space in the stage by using “View mode”. With this work, you can meet Kizuna AI in a virtual space.
Supports PS VR and PS VR2!
This work also supports VR (you can play without VR). The PS5 version will be compatible with “PS VR2” scheduled to be released in early 2023. A more realistic experience is possible. In the PS4 version, you can play in VR space by combining “PlayStation Move motion controller” and “PS VR”.
