Kirby Returns to 3DS With Kirby: Planet Robobot

Today’s Nintendo Direct covered a number of details of Kirby’s new game, Kirby: Planet Robobot.

The game plays like a traditional Kirby game with side-scrolling goodness and Kirby’s iconic devouring of foes to copy their abilities. New to this one, however, is Kirby’s new mech, the Robobot Armor. Not only is it incredibly strong on it’s own, it’ll also get the ability to suck in enemies to use versions of their abilities called ‘modes’.

Featured above, you can view the game’s debut trailer. The debut screenshots can also be found below:

Planet Robobot will also be compatible with Amiibo. Scanning them will give Kirby different copy abilities. Some Amiibo will even give Kirby character specific abilities. A new line of Kirby Amiibos are on the way too, featuring Kirby, MetaKnight, Dedede, and Wadle Dee.

Furthermore, coming alongside Planet Robobot is a new co-op Kirby game called Team Kirby Clash. It let’s up to four players work together to defeat big bosses. With different roles for combat based on classic RPG classes, the combat and teamwork is the focus here. Not only that, but as you complete quests, you’ll even gain experience and level up to take on harder quests. It’ll also be available as a download play title so you can play with people who don’t have the game yet, or just play with sidekicks.

Kirby: Planet Robobot will hit 3DS on June 10th of this year.
