The original Kirby anime is getting a blu-ray remaster

Kirby

Nintendo announced the classic Kirby anime series, Kirby: Right Back at Ya! (Kirby of the Stars in Japan), will be getting a new blu-ray boxset release this winter.

The official announcement was made during the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival on August 11, and was accompanied by a Twitter post by the official account:

The blu-ray boxset will have all 100 episodes in HD quality. The Twitter post also states that there will be more information coming soon about the release and pricing.

The anime first aired in Japan between 2001 and 2003, with the North American release coming to Fox’s 4Kids lineup in 2002. The anime was a collaborative effort between Studio Sign, Nintendo, and HAL laboratory, along with help from Studio Comet.

As of right now, it is not clear whether the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! boxset will be getting a Western release or not, but we can always hope.
