Kingdom is Getting Bigger and Better on Kickstarter

I wrote about Kingdom back in November of last year – and for those who still haven’t played it, the game is a minimalist real time strategy experience. However, don’t let the simple premise of the game fool you, underneath the pixelated, basic designs lies an extremely addicting experience.

Now, the sole creator behind the game, Thomas van den Berg, has taken the game to Kickstarter in the hopes that he can get funding to develop the game into something bigger and better, while still remaining true to what made the original game so addicting and fun.

The new version is being poised to bring lots of new stuff like new weather effects that also affect gameplay, more villager types, more animals, more monsters, more jobs, and even fire – both the good and the bad kind.

Unfortunately, for the fans of the game on PC, this Kickstarter is to fund an iOS version of Kingdom. However, there are stretch goals to bring the game to both PC and Android, although those wait at €37000 and €20000, respectively.

With a goal at €8000, the Kickstarter campaign is currently resting at a little over €3000, I expect it to be funded, however the PC and Android goals will take more time. If you want to back Kingdom, head on over to their Kickstarter.
