The Kingdom Come: Deliverance kickstarter has finally come to a close, and boy did they rake in quite a bit of money. How much, you ask? They raised roughly £1,100,000 pounds, which equates to roughly $1,830,840 dollars.
They also reached almost all of their stretch goals, most notably unlocking performance motion capturing, a symphonic orchestra for the soundtrack, and a playable female protagonist. Some of the stretch goals are a little silly though, like getting a dog companion at a million pounds.
These are all of the unlocked stretch goals:
- £400,000 – Live in-game period music
- £500,000 – Symphonic orchestra soundtrack
- £600,000 – Playable female character
- £700,000 – Performance Motion Capture
- £800,000 – In-Game Combat Academy & Companion Training Video
- £900,000 – Tournament Mode
- £1,000,000 – Dog Companion
The only stretch goal that Warhorse Studios didn’t reach was the better voiceovers, which sat at £1,200,000 pounds. The fact that this campaign earned so much money is probably due to the pedigree that the team has, and the amount of polish the build being shown off had.
So what’s next for the team at Warhorse? Well, they’re going to begin working on finishing the first chapter of the Kingdom Come series, and they’re also being joined by twelve new team members next month. Some of these developers are seasoned veterans from the recently disbanded 2K Czech studio in Prague, the team who worked on the Mafia series.
