Publisher Deep Silver and developer Warhorse Studios have given an unequivocal no to using anti-piracy DRM for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, their new open-world action RPG sequel.
“Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will not have Denuvo it will not have any DRM systems at all,” said Warhorse Studios global PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling.
“There was some misalignment, there was some misinformation, but at the end of the day there won’t be any Denuvo at all,” Stolz-Zwilling clarified. “With that, I would like you to close the case already. Stop texting under every post we do asking ‘Is Denuvo in the game?'”
He added, “We never announced it. A bit of a misunderstanding. That is something you should really remember, as long as Warhorse doesn’t announce anything it’s not true.”
DRM or digital rights management is software developers and publishers integrate into new games to prevent piracy, though the practice has become synonymous with negativity as it frequently hampers performance of games.
