Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 Servers Shutting Down in March 2018

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games have announced they’re cutting off the servers for both Killzone 2 and Killzone 3.

Both games will be cut off on March 29th of next year, after six plus years of being fully supported on the PlayStation 3. Guerrilla posted a thank you note on their website:

As we near the end of the online lifecycle for Killzone 2 and Killzone 3, we’d like to express how grateful we are for all the support and feedback we’ve received from the community over the last eight years. Your enthusiasm is what drove us to hone our craft and grow as a studio. We hope you enjoyed playing Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 online as much as we did creating them.

While Killzone 2 was released back in 2009, its direct sequel Killzone 3 was released in 2011. Both games furthered the benchmark in terms of visuals in gaming, and were both critical and commercial successes.
