Killing Floor 2 Hits Retail for PlayStation 4 Later in 2016

Deep Silver has announced they’re partnering with developer Tripwire Interactive and company Iceberg Interactive to bring Killing Floor 2 to retail.

The game will launch for PlayStation 4 via retail stores worldwide sometime later this year.

Here’s a refresher on the game, via Deep Silver.

Killing Floor 2 places the gamer into continental Europe, about one month after the original Killing Floor trials. Now the outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment has gained relentless momentum, essentially paralyzing the European Union — with all being methodically obliterated: communications, governments, and military forces alike, it is now up to a group of civilians, who have not yet given up hope to combat the outbreak and establish privately funded operation bases across Europe.

New elements to Killing Floor 2 are an enhanced level of carnage, with the visceral gore ramped up though a proprietary, high powered persistent blood system. As well as terrifying Zeds – novel enemies and fan favorites return with expanded and smarter artificial intelligence. Six player co-op or solo play is available, together with a unique blend of weaponry. An expanded perk system – with perks from the original game having been reimagined, and further brutal melee combat – reinventing the melee combat completely, make for a blood-splattered gaming experience.

Features Recap

  • Visceral GoreKilling Floor 2 ramps up the gore with a proprietary, high powered persistent blood system bringing new levels of fidelity to the genre. Players will send entrails, severed limbs, and blood flying as they wade through hordes of enemies. But they need to watch out! If caught, enemies will rip them, and their entire party limb from limb.
  • Six player co-op or solo play— A multitude of varied playable characters await for players to choose from as they enter the fray in online co-op mode or solo mode for those willing to brave the horrific specimens alone.
  • Terrifying Zeds – New enemies and fan favorites from the original game are back with expanded and smarter artificial intelligence, dishing out powerful attacks, working as a group to weaken the player’s party and pushing the challenge level and fear factor to new levels.
  • Unique Blend Of Weaponry – From modern militaristic assault rifles, brutal improvised makeshift weapons, classic historical guns, and off the wall “Mad Scientist” weapons, Killing Floor 2 has a unique blend of killing tools that will satisfy any gamer.
  • Expanded Perk System – Perks from the original game have been reimagined with more added to the fold. All perks now progress with meaningful talent choices that amplify different play styles, giving players a progression path that is expansive and full of rewarding milestones.
  • Brutal Melee CombatKilling Floor 2 reinvents melee combat completely. Players now have control over the type of melee attacks they can perform, enabling them to deliver bone-breaking crippling attacks to Zeds.

For any PS4 gamers who are interested in this game: don’t. As a person who was dumb enough to buy the Early Access version of it, while the game is decent, Tripwire have been treating their customers like shit.

Not only can they take your game away if you take mean words in their forum, but from the fact that there have only been three large updates in the past year, failing to reach their “end of 2015” deadline which could have been acceptable if they weren’t busy putting CS:GO skins in the game, adding a PVP mode no one particularly care about, to the fact that they’re now banning people on the Steam forums for criticism, to the fact that it’s STILL IN EARLY ACCESS, just don’t.

Weren’t these the developers who treatened to ban users if there ever was a bikini mod?

Huh really? Haven’t seen any articles about it. Where can I find more info on this? Only find their EULA cyberbullying stuff from a year ago.

Oh that’s a shame. Still that’s a rather small sample of the abuse that’s happening to the steam users in the KF2 forums. Are there any other instances of this you can find? Other examples of general discontent from users?

This is…really late, isn’t it? There can’t be any hype.

Can’t find anything else too specific, but the main page of Steam reviews are nearly all negative and bring up this up too so maybe something else is there?

Most of those are legit spammers though, like to point of trolling or mental illness. it wouldn’t suprise me if 50% of the post on the steam forms were those users.

“Not only can they take your game away if you take mean words in their forum”

Unfortunately this is the norm as far as eula goes, according to rockstars eula they can come to your house and take away your game if you say something they deem offensive in it. Not sure why only this game only gets singled out for it though.

Yeah I had a friend that jumped in EA as well and being a huge fan of the first game, he said this one is complete garbage. Think they had the unfortunate effect of having too much money and success that they slacked off from the quality of the game. Also that banning bullshit really turned me off from them as well.

Because these guys seem to be the only one that really enforcing it to a very high degree where as other EULA, it is only their for legal reasons and it is not really enforced.

as an immense fan of the first game, fuck this game fuck it right off. It was funny to see both this and payday 2 fall into the exact same trap causing me to uninstall both within a similar time frame and never play them again.

Really? Because I’ve yet to see it actually enforced to any degree. I know EA used to do something similar with forums bans, maybe they still do.

To be fair, at least the skins in KF2 don’t have a marginal effect on all guns and completely break the balance of them like in PD2, but the fact that Tripwire had the audacity to add microtransactions to their unfinished game is a big “fuck you” to their fans.

Tripwire went SJW, left Red Orchestra 2 half finished and promised to do Early Access “right” by finishing up KF2 in 6 months.
They then announced a PS4 version, have added and made changes ingame for the console players.
They started releasing updates as “free content packs” added a broken PvP mode when theres still half the classes (which can now solo the game) missing and to top it all off added microtransactions in an Early Access game.

They managed to piss off both optimistic newcomers and cynical veterans (hey there).

You can easily find most of the info if you Google it.

Yeah, everyone, especially the ones who own all their games just conspired to do it.
