Japanese developer Edia has announced Kigetsu no Yoru, a new “time leap survival horror adventure” game they have in development.
Kigetsu no Yoru (The Night of the Blue Moon) is in development for Nintendo Switch with a release date set for January 29th, 2026 in Japan.
Here’s a brief blurb on the game, plus its opening movie and theme song:
A modern-day high school student becomes a “participant” in a mass murder case and is reincarnated in a rural village of the early Showa era, closed off by a gloomy atmosphere. After dying in the incident, he repeats the same time over and over again, trying to find the right choice and survive in this “time leap survival horror” story.
With each time leap, the relationships become more entangled and the murderous intent is inescapable. By repeating the story, the customs, secrets, and the motives of the true culprit become apparent.
When the moonlit night comes to an end, will the protagonist (you) be greeted with hope or despair?
