Ember Lab have announced that the release date of Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As previously reported, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a story-driven action adventure game with fast-paced combat. Finding a team of small spirits called dubbed the Rot, players enhance their abilities, letting them manipulate the environment.
Ember Labs cited the delay as due to working from home, almost certainly due to the quarantine orders caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Former President of SIE Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida replied openly on Twitter, stating “Take your time <3”.

This year has brought many challenges and our transition to working from home has caused development to move slower than we hoped. For this reason, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of Kena: Bridge of Spirits to Q1, 2021. We have not made this decision lightly, but feel it is best for the game and well-being of the team. We will use this time to give the game the polish it deserves and deliver an experience that meets our vision and your expectations.
We look forward to sharing more about Kena in the coming months and delivering an amazing experience early next year.”

The Story
Kena, a young Spirit Guide, travels to an abandoned village in search of the sacred mountain shrine. She struggles to uncover the secrets of this forgotten community hidden in an overgrown forest where wandering spirits are trapped.
