Bandai Namco Entertainment General Manager Katsuhiro Harada has proposed if he should stream upcoming announcements on Twitch, after the cancellation of EVO Online.
Speaking on Twitter, Harada proposed streaming on Twitch to “talk about various things with the community.”
“Many plans have been delayed or blown away this year. I (we) wanted to talk about various things with the community, but the opportunities are steadily diminishing. Should I start streaming on Twitch?
This came after the cancellation of EVO Online, due to multiple allegations of sexual harassment and abuse made against co-founder and CEO Joey “MrWizard” Cuellar and other prominent members of the fighting game community. Cuellar, Nairoby “Nairo” Quezada, and Richard “Keitaro” King later confessed the allegations were true.
Based on the context, it is likely Harada wishes to present upcoming announcements intended to be shown during EVO Online. When one user expressed concerns Harada would likely need a lot of moderators for the chat (and for the chat to use slow-mode), Harada explained it would not difficult to organize.
“Many people have responded to the tweet, but I don’t think it’s really that hard.
I would like to be able to talk to about 100 community viewers from time to time, and I would like to stream it.”

The latter may also indicate Harada’s desire to make a more direct and casual livestream to discuss announcements and recent affairs on a regular basis, rather than just a press conference or a “Bandai Namco Entertainment Direct.”
