Japanese developer RS34 announced a release date for Karous on modern platforms, their remaster of the classic 2006 arcade shoot ’em up game.
Their Karous remaster is launching for Switch, PS4, and PS5 in Japan on November 27th. A PC (via Steam) port is planned, but wasn’t dated today.
Here’s a blurb on the game, plus a new trailer:
A complete port of the shooting game “Karasu,” which debuted in arcades in 2006. The previous crowdfunding campaign achieved 300% of its target amount.
The game features a distinctive system where players can level up their shots, swords, and shields to evolve into an ultra-powerful player character, a cool monochrome visual style, a dark and mysterious world setting, and a sound design incorporating drum and bass and gabber, all of which have been well-received.
