Kana Hanazawa and Kensho Ono Announce Marriage

Anime voice actors and singers Kana Hanazawa and Kensho Ono recently announced that they are engaged to be married.

According to Tweets [1, 2] from the official accounts of both Hanazawa and Ono, the pair has confirmed that they intend to be married together in the future. Ono originally confirmed the relationship back in 2017, during a live broadcast of the Bunshunho Live program on NicoNico Douga.

Both Ono and Hanazawa are prolific voice actors in the anime industry. Ono is best known for his roles as Giorno Giovanna in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, Tetsuya Kuroko in Kuroko’s Basketball, and Tomohiro Nagatsuka in the anime film A Silent Voice. Ono is also known as the go-to voice for dubbing the works of Daniel Radcliffe, and has acted as his Japanese voice in many of his films from the Harry Potter Series to Horns.

Hanazawa has performed dozens of roles since her career took off in the late 2000s. Hanazawa is best known for voicing Nadeko Sengoku in the Monogatari series, as well as performing the popular song Renai Circulation. Her other notable roles include Akane Tsunemori in Psycho-Pass, Kuroneko in My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute, and Sora Kajiwara in Sketchbook ~full color’s~, among many others.

Both Ono and Hanazawa have also launched successful singing careers in addition to their voice talent work; with Hanazawa releasing her first single Hoshizora Destination in 2012, and Ono releasing Fantastic Tune in 2012. Ono has also performed in live action roles, including a cameo in the film adaptation of the manga and anime series ReLife, since Ono voiced the main character in the anime.

On Twitter, both Hanazawa and Ono promised readers that they would continue looking forward and working together. The pair reassured fans that their marriage should not have any impact on their future works, and thanked them for supporting them all of this time.
