Kaguya-sama: Love is War

The official website for Kaguya-sama: Love is War has announced the premiere date of the anime’s second season.

Based on the 2015 manga of the same name (published by Shueisha, written by Aka Akasaka), focuses on Student council president Miyuki Shirogane, and vice-president Kaguya Shinomiya. While ideal for each other (Kaguya coming from an affluent family, and Miyuki a top student), both are too proud to confess to the other. Each then attempt elaborate schemes to force the other into confessing their feelings.

The anime’s first season ran from January to March 2019, with Animation Production by A-1 Pictures, and directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama. Producers included Taku Funakoshi, Tatsuya Ishikawa, Toshihiro Maeda, and Naoto Nakajima.

Now, the official website and Twitter account for the series have announced the premiere date for the second series, along with the Japanese television channels the show will broadcast on.

In addition, a promotional visual, and a “character song” for Kaguya Answer Meet, sung by her voice actress Aoi Koga. While the music video is not available in some regions, it is also available on Twitter via the official Twitter account. You can find the promotional visual below:

The official website’s staff & cast page also reveal many of the major members will be returning. Animation Production will again be handled by A-1 Pictures, and directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama. Yasuhiro Nakanishi will return as the series writer, along with music by Kei Haneoka.

The two new characters entering the series- Miko Iino and Kobachi Osaragi, will be voiced by Miyu Tomita and Rina Hidaka respectively.

The second season of Kaguya-sama: Love is War premieres April 11th in Japan.
