Kadokawa Games have announced a new tactical RPG for both PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, dubbed simply God Wars: Beyond Time.
The game was revealed during their fall media briefing, today, and it’s launching sometime next year – worldwide. The game was actually revealed last year as Project Code: Tsukiyomi. Featured above, you can view the game’s debut trailer.
The tactical RPG showcases the growth and battles within ancient Japan. The three nations in the game include the “Sea Nation of Hinata Country,” “Forest Nation of Fuji Country,” and “Iron Nation of Izumo Country.”
Players can expect the game to be a mix of Japanese folklore and fairy-tales, presented in an anime-like Yamato-e style (Editor’s note: traditional Japanese paintings). There’s also over 30 jobs, 600 skills, and 200 weapons.
Love Plus character designer Mino Taro is handling character designs, Sawaki Takeyasu is handling monster designs, and Japanese actor Shiro Sano is narrating the game.
You can find the official English description for the game below, via Kadokawa:
A history of Gods that no one knows.
A tactical RPG that depicts the conflict and surge of young heroes in ancient Japan.
An adventure that merges the world of Kojiki, Japan’s oldest history book, and the fairy-tales of Japanese folklore.
The amazing saga of mighty heroes who fought bravely against their fate and the wrath of the Gods, has now been revealed.
