Kadokawa Games, the developer behind the upcoming Rodea the Sky Soldier, has also been developing a PS Vita port of Kantai Collection, called Kantai Collection Kai. The game was on track for a May release, but has now been delayed until August 27, without explanation.
KanColle, as the franchise on which the game is based is also known, began as a free-to-play web browser game, then grew into a multimedia franchise including manga, light novels, and recently an anime. KanColle‘s story centers on girls with weaponized outfits, who represent different weapons of war, fighting each other.
The Vita game is largely the same as its browser counterpart, but has a new interface. You can watch a trailer for Kantai Collection Kai here.
The standard edition of KCK will cost 5,800 yen, and the limited edition will cost 9,800 yen.
