Justin Bailey And Crew Launch New Crowdfunding Platform, Fig

Crowdfunding has been all the rage nowadays, with more and more games being funded via Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

Fig, a new crowdfunding platform created by former Double Fine employee Justin Bailey, seems to be bringing something new to the table.

Ran by himself, Brian Fargo, Feargus Urquhart, and Tim Schafer, Fig aims to get backers more involved in the development process by allowing the chance for them to become investors.

Backers can now see the money they’ve put into the game grow, and can actually get more cash in return. The catch is that you’ll need to invest at least 1000 dollars into a project.

Campaigns will be chosen through an application process that will be reviewed by the staff and advisory board. They will then decide if the project is worth featuring on their site or not.

As of now, there are only two projects allowed per month, but that should change in the near future, according to the site.

Fig currently has a campaign for Outer Wilds, which you can learn about more on their project page.
