Shueisha, the company that publishes Gege Akutami’s manga series Jujutsu Kaisen, has announced that the next five chapters would be the final chapters in the acclaimed saga.
In a new Jump Press live broadcast hosted by the publisher, the manga will end on September 30 in Weekly Shonen Jump. The latest chapter is currently chapter 267.
The Weekly Shonen Jump also teased “an unbelievable project” for chapter 268, however, the details are unknown at this time.
Gege Akutami penned Jujutsu Kaisen back in 2018 and the manga has sold over 90 million copies. Its popularity got boosted by three anime adaptations by MAPPA starting from 2018. It also received a prequel movie released in Japan in 2021.
The story involves Yuji Itadori eating the finger of Ryomen Sakura, cursing and merging with him. With Satoru Gojo as a mentor, he was then enrolled in Tokyo Jujutsu High School, meeting friends like Nobara, to help him exorcise and fight curses that became rampant in the city.
